The property location was perfect - straight across from The Strand, however the property was very disapointing. The quality of the room and facilities were B-Grade. A half- finished renoravation on-top of a 1970's motel - nothing like the pictures on the internet! The bathroom shower drain was blocked and when we reported it to reception, they already knew and a plumber had been called, but when asked when it was coming it was sometime tomorrow.
The problem was blamed on a previous guest and we were frustrated that if they already knew, why not let us know when we checked in? Of course the plumber never came and we had a lot of frustration with dealing with a flooded bathromm plus the silt that was coming up out of the drain. We explained again to reception when we were leaving but there was no attempts to rectify the problem (too late anyway) or apologies/provide solutions for our unhappy stay.
For the money we paid it was a rip-off.
The Strand is a wonderful place with lots of beautiful attractions. We really enjoyed the botanical gardens- especailly the birds! The coffee at Juliettes was 10/10!
