Spacious and comfortable stay- need more maintenance care on facilities

We stayed in this property this August 2009. The place was spacious and cleaned; however, smoke-detecters on the ceiling hanging down, several holes- facility clearly needs more DIY. No air-conditioner apart from ceiling fans, but it was OK. For us in winter hence no report to the property manager. Remote controllers on TV. Need updating. No CNN on satellite which has not been mentioned on the time of booking.

Good points; beautiful, fully fitted kitchen; washing facilities; most of all, spacious rooms. We could not find any instruction manual or form on how to deal with the rubbish. It would have been better if there were more written instructions. Considering our joyful stay, it had served us well for what we had paid. If you are a kind of person who wants everything to be near perfect, this is not a place for you.

All in all, we did enjoy the space and the kitchen so that we could save on over priced and not so good Port Douglas "village" restaurants

Port Douglas: Beautiful and accesible 4-mile-beach which takes only 5 minutes by car. Truly amazing with mountains and sea. We spent most of our holiday on this white sand beach. Port Douglas "village" centre with shopping centre located on the same street from the beach. Several restaurants and shops also in the same street. Marina in between the "village" and this property. Great for diving in Great Barrier Reef, because most diving trips starts from this Marina in early mornings.

Rainforest Habitat- great place to entertain kids. Fed Kangaroo directly off hands which will probably be remembered for a long time. Be careful with car parks on this main road in Port Douglas; it is always full with no vacancy. The supermarket had all we needed for our holiday. It had a back-packer feel about the entire city, which I did not expect in the beginning. Cairns was bigger with more materialistic things for shopping.

Still, we managed to enjoy our holidays away from the metropolice.
