We were upgraded to their other property "The Summit B & B" which was brand new and had fantastic views of Atherton and the tablelands. We would really recommend this one to everyone but not sure of the price. The verandas were the place to hang out as the sun set with your glass of wine and some local cheese. If you go in winter like us take warm clothes and particularly warm PJs.
Atherton was a great central place as a base to see the other tablelands attractions. We were recommended the restaurants in the nearest town of Yungaburra (very nice and up market) and had a lovely dinner at the Atherton Hotel. Note this closes at 9pm. The MacDonalds across the road was the only place to go for a coffee afterwards that we could find. Lake Barrine was about 15 mins away and had lovely gardens, a cafe and you could also do a 45min lake cruise.
