Great Personalized Service, Great Beach, Great Time

The Tree Tops/Blue Leaf Rooms are privately owned accommodations inside a Mecure complex. Hilary and Rob are the overseers going above and beyond service expectations by taking a personal interest in making sure guests are taken care of. For example, we had booked a snorkel and dive trip on the Tillarook and were waiting for our scheduled pick up at 8:45am. When no one came by 9:00 and we called to find out they had cancelled our prepaid cruise, Hilary worked quickly and efficiently to help us find another excursion that left at 10:00.

In order to make the departure, Rob drove us to the pier in his personal auto. The room was large and comfortable. Previously a Radisson property; very tropical in theme with a cabana atmosphere. Even though we were overlooking the pool/food area, we were never disturbed by noise (except one morning when work on replacing deck boards began at 7:00am. The next morning it was at 8:30 instead). Painting and renovating being done.

Microwave needed.

The beach was easily accessible and was sparsely populated as we were about a 45 minute walk on the beach to Port Douglas shopping and restaurants. We stayed for 6 nights and I made the walk each day at least one way. You can catch a shuttle either way for ; nice if you have stuff to carry. Did scuba of outer Barrier Reef, Daintree trip with kayaking, microflight, snorkeling. Nothing disappointed.

Recommend going for the smaller group events, though. Snorkeling was the biggest group we joined and with about 100 people was too impersonal compared to all of the other outings. You really get a chance to get the Australian flavor and meet other tourists in the smaller groups--8 on Daintree trip, 12 on dive.

Book Blue Leaf Rooms, or Coastal Accommodation and Hotels.
